All California Clubs Foray
January 27–29, Albion, CA
FORAY FULL!
Join mushroomers from all over California (and beyond) at the Albion Field Station near Mendocino for the fifth All California Club Foray, sponsored by BAMS. This foray is scheduled during the heart of the winter mushroom season, and is close to excellent mushroom habitat. Meals are catered and the company will be divine! Best of all, the price is right: Friday night through Sunday noon includes catered meals and lodging, guided forays and evening entertainment for only $175 per person.
This foray is geared towards taxonomists, but any California club member or member of NAMA is welcome to attend. Dr. Else Vellinga is foray mycologist. For more information and registration, see site

FORAYCANCELLED!
Stay tuned; recent rains may change the picture.
All FFSC members are invited. It will be lead by our Prime Minister, Phil Carpenter. To sign up, register with Lynn Bomberger by calling her at 831.375.7777. There is limit to the total number of attendees. As usual, following the foray, there will be a get together to taste mushrooms and socialize. Details will be furnished as they are developed.
Once again the FFSC is offering beginners’ classes
in mushroom identification. The series will consist of four classes, to be held on the first and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7 pm at the Natural History Museum (the “Whale Museum”) located on East Cliff Drive.
Class instructor will be Phil Carpenter. It is a requirement that you be a paid member of the FFSC in order to take the classes, which are offered at no charge. Surely worth more than the price of membership! If you sign up for the classes you are committing to taking all four classes, as it has been necessary to turn away people when the class maximum (20–22) has been reached.
The class schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, February 1 and 22, March 7 and 28
To sign up, please send an email to
philandmac AT @sbcglobal.net and indicate how many people will be taking the classes .
