Fungus Fair Forays
Sunday - Wednesday, January 3-6
Foraging begins on Sunday, January 3rd and will continue through Wednesday the 6th. We urge you to join these collecting trips, which will start daily at 9 am on the street outside the Harvey West Scout House, where we hold our regular meetings. These trips will be for collecting only and will not include any ID sessions. Please bring wax paper, paper bags or wax paper sandwich bags in which to collect the mushrooms. Also collect a small piece of the duff or tree leaf where the mushroom was found — this helps with ID. Or collect on your own and bring the mushrooms either to the collecting parties meeting at the Scout House, or to Louden Nelson Center during the setup period beginning Wednesday afternoon. Ken Sommers will be coordinating the collecting forays.
Ken can be reached by phone at 831 425-4509; SEND EMAIL.

That is, you would sign up with the idea that you would commit to attend all the classes to get the most out of the course. That will be important, as each class will build upon the knowledge gained in the previous classes. In addition, as a culmination of the classes, a field trip (foray) will be held to apply the knowledge gained in the classes. The final foray will will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
